South-east Australia Marine Climate Impacts and Adaptation symposium & workshop.
When: Feb 20-21, 2018
Venue: CSIRO Marine Laboratories, Hobart
IMAS, CSIRO, IMOS and the Centre for Marine Socioecology invite you the South-east Australia Marine Climate Impacts and Adaptation symposium & workshop.
This mini-symposium will offer researchers a chance to meet with colleagues and discuss recent work on the topics of marine climate change – climate system observations & modelling, impacts on species, habitats and communities, dependent humans, fished and non-fished species (ie fisheries, aquaculture and conservation). This workshop follows a similar concept to a symposium held in 2011 when there was a previous high point in research on the topic – http://www.imas.utas.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0011/743087/Marine-climate-change-in-South-East-Australia.pdf. The format will be short talks and discussion sessions, with the aim to consolidate progress in recent years, and discuss best practice for research on living marine systems and people.
If you would like to attend this symposium and workshop please send an email to Linda Thomas ASAP (Linda.Thomas@csiro.au) with:
- I would like to attend but will likely not present
- I would like to attend and would like to present (please include nominal talk title that will allow us to plan the structure of the symposium):
o A ‘regular’ 12 min talk
o A ‘speed’ talk
o A poster
- Please also suggest any smaller workshop or discussion topics that you would be interested in attending or facilitating
You will be able to confirm or change these details closer to the date, but it would be very helpful to get an indication at this early stage so that we can plan an event that best meets the requirements of our climate science community.
