Julia is a postdoctoral research fellow with CSIRO, based in Cairns. Her work focusses on facilitating the development of future scenarios for the Great Barrier Reef with Traditional Owners. Her work also aims to link scenarios with current reef models, to develop pathways to arrive at desired futures. She is generally interested in participatory research methods and co-production of knowledge. Julia completed her PhD at Griffith University in 2020, investigating the use of community and expert knowledge to understand the bushmeat trade in Africa. Previously, Julia completed her master’s degree examining conflict between Blue Cranes and farmers in South Africa.
