Tassie Science Road Trip - Beaker Street Festival

Event Date: 8 August, 2021

Three CMS members will be participating in different science trips during the festival.

Dr Jess Melbourne-Thomas will be talking about "how climate change is affecting Tasmanian and Antarctic species and environments", at the RACV Hobart Hotel on the 8th of August (more information here).

Assoc Prof Catriona MacLeod will be talking about "coastal and marine development and resource use", in Strahan on the 9th of Aug (more info here). Catriona will also join the Gordon River Cruise to add to the scientific commentary about the Tasmania’s west coast and the Tasmanian UNESCO Wilderness World Heritage Area on the 10th of Aug.

Prof Gretta Pecl will be talking about "the effects of climate change on the inhabitants of Tasmania’s East Coast waters", in Freycinet on the 13th of Aug (more information here). Gretta will also join the Wineglass Bay Cruise to continue the discussion about how and why Tasmanian marine species continue to change on the 14th of Aug.
