Bio

Marycarmen is an environmental scientist with a strong focus on the application of geospatial analysis for conservation, especially in coastal environments. Currently, her research focuses on digital transformation for sustainability science where she will use participatory methods and co-design approaches to develop digital tools that account for Traditional Owner priorities for Crown of Thorn starfish control in the Great Barrier Reef. Her previous work includes modelling mangrove species distribution in response to climate change and anthropogenic pressures, such as urbanisation in Australia and Mexico.
