Bio

Shradha is a Social Sciences PhD candidate with a strong fascination with everything polar. Initially started with an anti-touristic stance in the polar regions, Shradha has come to terms with the fact that tourism isn't going anywhere, no matter how much we sulk about it. Therefore, she is keen to enhance the positive aspects of polar tourism. During her Master's in Tourism Management, she explored how Citizen Science programs onboard Expedition Cruise Industry in Arctic Svalbard help encourage pro-environmental behaviour in these tourists. In her current research, she focuses on the long-term impacts on the behaviour of Antarctic tourists after visiting the icy continent. She uses interdisciplinary approaches to identify factors that can help foster sustainable behavior in Antarctic tourists.
