Dr Éva Plagányi's research ranges from stock assessment modelling to ecosystem modelling and climate change impacts and adaptations. Together with her MICE (Models of Intermediate Complexity for Ecosystem assessments) team, she works on developing social-ecological modelling. She also leads research on Torres Strait fisheries, including integrating biological, social, cultural and economic factors. She earned a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Cape Town in 2004, where she worked as a lecturer until moving to Australia in 2009. She is an Australian Women in STEM superstar.
