Bio

Mary is a postdoctoral fellow within the monitoring, control and surveillance team at CSIRO. Her research focusses on the human dimensions of global illegal fishing. She aims to contribute to aspects of non-compliance and explore tools to improve reporting and encourage legal behaviour as well as explore the influence of bias and community buy-in within fisheries management. She finished her PhD in Economics in 2019 at the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics and the Centre for Marine Socioecology at the University of Tasmania. Her thesis explored the role of behavioural incentives on compliance behaviour in recreational fisheries management.
