Informing and achieving equitable ocean futures: Training the next generation of interdisciplinary marine researchers
The CMS Interdisciplinary School is a one-week training course designed to equip post-graduate students and early-career researchers from diverse disciplines with knowledge and skills to conduct effective interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research in the context of ocean sustainability.
Internationally-recognised experts from across the marine natural and social sciences, will deliver this training.
Participants will gain:
● a basic overview of the diversity of disciplines in marine research
● an understanding of equity and justice as they relate to ocean sustainability
● skills in using AI to assist with research
● fundamental science communication skills
● preparatory skills to engage and co-deliver research with marine stakeholders and research end-users.
Course Details:
● When: 6-11th April 2025 (TBC)
● Where: nipaluna/Hobart, lutruwita/Tasmania
● Venue: Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania
● Cost: $500 (excl. travel and accommodation). This course is free for CMS students and Indigenous students.
