CMS Seminar: Dr Caitie Kuempel

Dr Caitie Kuempel (Griffith University) will be in Hobart and giving a seminar for us next week on ‘Improving food system sustainability through cumulative impact mapping’.

Short Bio: Caitie is a Lecturer in Marine Ecosystem Modelling in the School of Environment and Science at Griffith University. Her research is focused on finding ways to meet the needs of the growing human population while minimising impacts on the environment – particularly in the world’s oceans. In this talk, she will share findings from her recent work on environmental impacts of food production across the land and sea. She will discuss the important role of feed in the environmental footprints of commercial chicken and salmon production and how we can make more sustainable food choices.
