About the Seminar: We're thrilled to have Malcolm Johnson, the Manager of Environmental Sustainability for Huon Valley Council, as our speaker. Malcolm, a recent CMS alumni, completed his PhD on perceptions of coastalscape values and risks in 2024. He oversees the council’s natural resource management, climate change, waste education, and sustainability initiatives. His impressive background includes roles like the National Coral Reef Management Fellow for the Northern Marianas and a Coastal Resource Management Volunteer in the Philippines.
In this seminar, Malcolm will share his insights on the challenges and opportunities local governments face, especially in tackling coastal and marine issues. He'll draw from his rich experiences to highlight the need for practical, realistic approaches to local problems and reflect on the coastal and marine challenges in Huon Valley and beyond.
