Bio

David Maynard (FRDC) visited the CMS and the Tasmanian Behavioural Lab (UTAS), hosted by Gretta Pecl, Jess Melbourne-Thomas & Swee-Hoon Chuah, 10 August 2023. David is currently the Tasmania Extension Officer for the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC). David studied fishing gear technology at the Australian Maritime College. He has worked in the seafood processing sector as a microbiologist/export officer, as a research scientist with the South Australian rock lobster industry, and as a lecturer and trainer at the Australian Maritime College and the University of Tasmania. David was also the Senior Curator Natural Sciences at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston, Tasmania, working on biodiversity and climate science and anthropogenic impacts. David is passionate about the marine environment and the seafood industry.
