Bio

Carolina is a fisheries ecologist whose research focuses on the use of archival sources and statistical modelling to reconstruct historical catch trends and evaluate the long-term effects of fishing on vulnerable fish populations. Carolina’s work seeks to identify past socio-ecological drivers to understand the development of fisheries over time. She is also interested in the evolutionary ecology of fish, in particular how fishing affects the population structure and size distribution of fish with complex life histories.
