Chris is a Quantitative Marine Ecologist and his research covers a wide range of topics in population management including control of invasive species, conservation of threatened biodiversity, and management of commercial and recreational harvesting. His work integrates field data, statistical analysis and predictive models to synthesise information to support decision-making. Chris is currently the Head of Minderoo Foundation’s Sustainable Fisheries Program, a portfolio of science and on-ground actions focused on ending overfishing globally. Formerly, Chris was the co-lead of two large research programs, focused on the ecological impacts of marine debris (http://www.csiro.au/marine-debris) and the development of analytical tools for tackling illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing (https://research.csiro.au/mcsanalytics)
