Myriam is an oceanographer with a research background in deep-sea benthic ecology, seafloor and habitat mapping, remote sensing, marine policy, marine resource management and spatial planning. Her current research focuses on developing decision-support tools in industry and government for the sustainable management of marine resources. Myriam uses geospatial tools and analytics to understand the distribution of marine ecosystems, human uses and values, and threats near the coast and offshore. She also has a strong interest in advances in accessible and affordable ocean technology and the information it provides to better monitor the health of marine ecosystems.
