Dr Valerio Sbragaglia is a Ramón y Cajal fellow at the Institute of Marine Sciences of the Spanish National Research Council. His research is focusing in advancing marine ecology and fisheries science using an integrative approach spanning from molecular mechanisms to collective animal behavioural dynamics with functional integration of human dimension. His background is in behavioural ecology and most recently, he specialized in using conservation culturomics and iEcology in the context of recreational fisheries and climate change effects on marine ecosystems. Valerio came to Tasmania to share with us his work on emerging tools for research and monitoring using online data in recreational fisheries.
