Hevi is a PhD researcher specialising in the human dimensions of marine–maritime governance at the Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania. Her research explores how social cognition, mindsets, and identities develop within coastal and seafaring communities and influence governance structures. She seeks to embed lived experience, social learning, mindset development, and identity formation into public awareness, marine policy, and resilience strategies. Hevi is passionate about fostering inter- and transdisciplinary collaborations that strengthen the human dimensions of marine socioeconomics. Through her research and engagement, she aims to bridge the gap between community perspectives and governance practices, ensuring that social and cultural dimensions are central to building inclusive, sustainable ocean futures.
