Karina Ryan is a Principal Research Scientist at the Western Australian Fisheries and Marine Research Laboratories. Karina has more 30 years’ experience in quantitative fisheries research, including post-graduate research at the University of Tasmania, Swinburne University and James Cook University. Her research focuses on the design, implementation and analysis of recreational fishing surveys, integration of sampling methods to improve fisheries data and the adoption of socio-ecological frameworks to improve aquatic resource assessments and management.
