Bio

Lizzie’s research explores the interaction between domestic politics and international environmental negotiations. Her project is focused on how national interests shape cooperative or non-cooperative behaviour during CCAMLR negotiations to better understand how states can effectively balance domestic realities whilst fulfilling international obligations to conserve and manage biodiversity beyond the limits of EEZs. This research draws upon data from multiple disciplines enriching a politics perspective with scientific information. Lizzie’s background is in politics and policy and her other interests include the regulation of wildlife trafficking and the role and influence of corporations on environmental protection.
