Barbara's research interests are quatic animal health, in particular health management of farmed fish and effects of environmental (including anthropogenic) factors on fish health and disease outbreaks. Parasitic diseases of fish, in particular host-pathogen-environment interactions and applying understanding of life cycles to improve management strategies. Development of environmental health markers.
