Tatiana van Steveninck was a Masters student in Evolutionary Biology and Science Based Business at the University Leiden in The Netherlands. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Utrecht. During her studies, she was part of an exchange program and undertook research projects in Australia, Singapore, and Wales where she developed a fascination for evolutionary aspects of snakes and snake venom.

Tatiana spent five months in Hobart working with CMS researchers on a business research project looking at competitive aspects of the Centre for Marine Socioecology within an Australian context. She also aimed to determine the value of projects and the way they influence the demand for research centres connected to Universities or companies.
