Bio

I am currently undertaking my Masters in Marine and Antarctic Science, in the Governance and Policy stream. Prior to this I completed a Bachelor of Environment at Macquarie University, majoring in Environmental Management and Biology. After I finished my undergraduate, I was lucky enough to work as a Marine Biologist onboard numerous tourism vessels in the Cairns Region of the Great Barrier Reef.  It was in this job that I found my passion for educating the general public about important messages about marine issues, and how important effective communication can be to assist with bridging the gap between the science and general public.

I chose to do the Governance and Policy stream of the masters program, as I wanted to further pursue this passion and to learn more about the interdisciplinary nature of solving marine problems on a large scale. I am fascinated by how the science of a problem is communicated with not only the general public, but also with other disciplines such as law or policy, to form a collaborative approach to solving global marine issues that are facing the world today.
