Asta has an interdisciplinary research background in evolutionary biology and ecological modelling, and her current interests focus on understanding how human induced changes in size and distribution of fish are affecting ecosystem function, productivity, resilience and fisheries. For this Asta uses traditional and citizen science based data collection methods, and a range of modelling tools. Her long term dream and passion is to contribute to the recovery of fish size diversity for increased resilience of populations and ecosystems. In 2020 Asta has been awarded Pew Fellowship in Marine Conservation.
